My Suite Inn Lognes Marne-la-Vallée

Day 1... 280 miles of beautiful riding weather; not too breezy; not too warm, (except when you're dressed in all your gear and have to wait for 5 motorcycles to fill up with petrol). Spent too long on the road and had to settle for a room in a Premiere Classe Hotel, in Chalons-en-Champagne... Not as grand as it sounds; little more than box room with a bed, a cubicle in the corner and a shower that blasts you like a warm water canon. More adventures tomorrow :-)

We've had a couple of days exploring the "Route Touristique du Champagne" in the department of Aube in the southern Champagne region. Our accommodation here is a Logis de France hotel called 'Hostellerie de la Chaumière', where we have demi-pension (bed, breakfast and dinner each day). We have stopped for Flunch in St. Dizier after 2 and a half hours and 90 miles of hell. Every gust of wind, corner or oncoming juggernaut drains your strength and hurts your muscles. But it's stopped raining now and the fields of sunflowers still look beautiful :-)

... 50am at the earliest, desperate to have a proper breakfast as the snacks on the Eurostar weren't going to cut it until lunch. Thankfully when we did get back to Disney's Sequoia Lodge at 11am the staff let us have a breakfast with the last few stragglers who were still at their tables. Despite the campsite being poor Epernay was great albeit a little expensive. We walked the main part of the ´Avenue d Champagne´ visiting Pol Roger and Moet Chandon. I will post pictures when I manage to get them off the camera. On route to Epernay we passed monuments to battles including one for Somme as well as fields full of graves. In Epernay Suzanne communicated well with the hairdresser to get her hair done.
