Day 1... 280 miles of beautiful riding weather; not too breezy; not too warm, (except when you're dressed in all your gear and have to wait for 5 motorcycles to fill up with petrol). Spent too long on the road and had to settle for a room in a Premiere Classe Hotel, in Chalons-en-Champagne... Not as grand as it sounds; little more than box room with a bed, a cubicle in the corner and a shower that blasts you like a warm water canon. More adventures tomorrow :-)
Saint-Martin-sur-le-Pré, Champagne-Ardenne, France tekknochickenWe've had a couple of days exploring the "Route Touristique du Champagne" in the department of Aube in the southern Champagne region. Our accommodation here is a Logis de France hotel called 'Hostellerie de la Chaumière', where we have demi-pension (bed, breakfast and dinner each day). It's highly rated as a gourmand restaurant so the food's great (though sometime the quantities are over the top!). Naturally, the local ...

There is also a good view from this area of Big Thunder Mountain which is on an island in the river here, kind of like Tom Sawyers island in the US. I think it is pretty cool. I finally decide to eat, and choose a sit down restaurant called the Silver Spur. I have to wait about 5 minutes for a table since I do not have a reservation. I order a steak and it is good. Expensive, but what isn’t in ...
Marne-la-Vallée, Île-de-France, France psubrat93... through the ride. It was really nice. "Walt Disney Studios Park" (the second park was pretty cool. My favorite attractions were: "Crush's Coaster," "Stitch Live," "Cinamagic," "Motors Action Stunt Show," "Armageddon Special Effects," "The Art of Disney Animation," " Flying Carpets Over Agrabah," and "Studio Tram Tour." "Crush's Coaster was one of my top favorites. You know on a regular roller-coaster you face straight as you go left, right, up, and down ...
Marne-la-Vallée, Île-de-France, France mshulistWe have stopped for Flunch in St. Dizier after 2 and a half hours and 90 miles of hell. Every gust of wind, corner or oncoming juggernaut drains your strength and hurts your muscles. But it's stopped raining now and the fields of sunflowers still look beautiful :-)
Saint-Dizier, Champagne-Ardenne, France tekknochicken... 50am at the earliest, desperate to have a proper breakfast as the snacks on the Eurostar weren't going to cut it until lunch. Thankfully when we did get back to Disney's Sequoia Lodge at 11am the staff let us have a breakfast with the last few stragglers who were still at their tables. This was a pretty simple affair; just croissants, bread, cereal, fruit salad and the usual freaky cold meats selection. Sadly nothing like the fantastic breakfast buffet one can expect at the ...

Marne-la-Vallée, France bechthomsenDespite the campsite being poor Epernay was great albeit a little expensive. We walked the main part of the ´Avenue d Champagne´ visiting Pol Roger and Moet Chandon. I will post pictures when I manage to get them off the camera. On route to Epernay we passed monuments to battles including one for Somme as well as fields full of graves. In Epernay Suzanne communicated well with the hairdresser to get her hair done.

Peale 17 küla läbimist jõudsime lõunaks esimesesse sihtkohta, milleks oli Chalons En Champagne. Külasid lugesime vastavalt asula märgistuste järgi, sest päris iga kohta nüüd ka kirja panna ei jõuaks. Aga Chalons’is oli peale sajakonna kilomeetri läbimist hea jalga sirutada ja ühtlasi ka sealse Hotel de Ville’i ...
