Two Young Giffers on a Motorbike in Fetihye

A travel blog entry by jennifer63 on Aug 11, 2014

Great to get back on the bike today, er um for about 10 minutes. The temperature rose to 42.5 in no time and our Rukka textiles are not suited to this, we were literally baking inside our gear. Reluctantly but necessary, I took off my jacket and rode in a t-shirt for the first time ever, it was bliss but sooooo unsafe. A waterfall spouting ...

After hiking around, we went back to the van and continued our ride to Fethiye. It took about 3 hours to get there, but was a great drive. A bus took us to Fethiye port (where we walked a few evenings before) and we boarded a huge wooden boat complete with two decks and a water slide which ...

Karacoaoran to Fethiye

... minute uphill trek would have given us some outstanding views down to the bay but we had a cloudy sky so we did not see it at its best.. The view of the ruined village was pretty spectacular, but now it was beginning to rain so we decided to make a quick descend back to the boat. David following the red arrows lead us up the wrong path but the right path was easily missed. Back to the boat for lunch as we were all hungry after our exertions. We set off ...

... to get a stern line on and muggins was chosen to scramble around the rocks and lizards and cicadas trying to tie us up. Eventually we got a line around an enormous rock which you had to drive the tender around and I was able to get back on board, soaking wet again. There wasn’t much time to stand under a cold shower and get my sanity back because in the evening the owners took us all to an abandoned town in the mountains.

The story goes that the city ...
