ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city I´d love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilman... Not only have the donations received already far exceeded my expectations, but the kind words and general interest and support that I have received have been amazing. So thank you all. It is all very much appreciated and I can't believe that between us we really will change these little lives. It is my motto here in Antibes, but this is the ultimate "think globally; act locally ...
Antibes, Provence, France marianner... if we want to via a plug in the side of Scooby. We've only hooked up to mains twice and found that we can charge all our gadgets from the leisure battery without running out of power. Laptop, Camera, phone, iPod, eBook and GPs. The fridge goes 3 ways off Mains when plugged in, off battery when the car is running and off gas when stationary. Mad Mary We have a GPS with EU maps installed. She was christened Mad Mary by the previous owner due to her sometimes ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74... other spots in Europe, here we didn't need to wear our polar fleeces...) we decided to extend our stay to include the weekend and spoilt ourselves with a stay in a 4 star hotel right near the beach! Its our first splash out since we started and would you believe it was almost in budget!!! Guess the off-season thing really applies here. Its a bit sad that we haven't come here in summer as its a bit chilly still, particularly when the sea breeze comes up. We've been very jealous of the 30 ...

Freshly brewed café.
While we were eating, the yacht gently slipped along the coast towards Monaco and by the time we had finished eating we had arrived in the harbor in Monaco. There was a limousine waiting for us that took us to the Casino de Monte Carlo. In the Limo, Stee gave me and each of the guests some ...
Arrived in Nice to no bags, not the end of the world. They arrived 24 hours later.
Stayed in the Contiki camping ground where the boys used to work... full of aussies and americans really... all just on the ****!! They arrive late afternoon, disappear around 7am in the morning.. not much ...
... defunct nations, which are hung above jewel-encrusted and gold-enlaid cabinets, mosaic tiled-topped desks, and other empty furniture of assorted colors and sizes. Overall it was impressively gaudy, but palatial none the less. The most interesting part of the palace was the grand stairway in the maincourtyard, which my pocket-sized British audio tour guide informed me was carved from a single piece of marble. Ajoining the palace was a ...
Nice, Provence, France jtmckeon... stupid, slow and every bit deserving of a slow and painful demise. (On that note, I've gotten onto another train and it's fabulous. It's clean, comfortable and modern; every seat has a plug and the bathrooms are lovely. Perhaps I should just give up all this comparative nonsense and settle on the fact that some trains are very nice, some are not so nice and some are downright awful. The thing about bureaucracies stands, though. Forever.)
Nice, Provence, France swuggy... walk around the city a bit but are limited by time, energy and locale - plus our map is ****. What I wouldn't have given for a quick stop in the Casino... The views are spectacular, including million dollar homes built into the mountains overlooking bright, clear blue waters. It's all so incredible. We take our time heading back to the train station once again and get our quick shopping ...
