    ... much faster, in 1 and a half day or so, if we went motoring non stop day and night, but we've decided that we will just sail daytime, as we don't know the area here at all and there quite a lot of cargo traffic, fishing nets and such that we'd better avoid the trouble..     ... Apparently there are cabins out on Deal Island that you can reach by boat.
    We had the best lunch on the eastern shore at the Island House restaurant. Crab bisque, and beer battered cod were outstanding and the view out over the marshes was lovely. After lunch we walked around the marina and strolled the quiet streets of town with charming houses with small yards, looking for signs of spring. The coast guard and virginia institute of marine science have locations here.
