... night card playing this time. Aust swept the series of "********" against NZ. Woke up in Turkey! Marmaris is in a spectacular location. Hills everywhere. We met our driver who appeared to be fairly new to the task of driving. Staying on the right side of the road was a challenge. But a great guy with perfect English. We had a morning tour Sue and Darren - a lovely couple who are not about religion and are well travelled and down to earth. We had a great day with them and wish now we were doing the Holy Land with them as they have a car and driver and space for two more......... We were on our way by 0830 and into the old town to see a bit of it before it was closed down to traffic. name the sites stopped pottery - name of vessel lindros lunch walk about white ...
... when we arrived at Chora we completely missed the stairs up to the monastery but had a great time wandering around this picturesque village, spotting restaurants with views for lunch and a bakery! We came across a church which we thought might be the monastery but were shooed out by the priest as he was leaving and locking everything. A bit more wandering and we found the monastery albeit from the back door. We met up briefly with Scott and Julie who had taken ...

Back to the hotel to sit and read in the shade. Wifi eventually back online at 1.30pm. Must be nearly lunchtime.
We settled for the snack bar but Barry got sidetracked and ordered flatbread from the lady in the carpet corner. I finished my beer in the time it took her, but Barry must have been impressed because he gave her a tip!
Starters done we polished off chicken donner and chips before adjourning ...
... that was left was a shallow lake and marsh which gave rise to malaria which wiped out most of the population. An earthquake destroyed the rest of the city.
Following this we went, by boat, to a local seafood restaurant. We started with a delicious meze plate and then they served chicken, beef or fish. the meze plate, which I had was delicious.
Then the 1.5 hour ride back to the ship. Tomorrow is Kusadasi.
