Phuket, Thailand: Holiday Bliss

A travel blog entry by samber

Our brief touch down in Bangkok was enough to set our senses on holiday mode. The smells, warmth, colour all indicated holiday and we couldn't wait to get to Phuket. Air Astana was ok but can't say I would actively seek out to fly with them again. The seats were terribly uncomfortable with little to no legroom. We also both thought it strange that none of the flight attendants spoke much English. First time I've ever been on a flight where that's been the case. ...

The Hangover

... from how I was feeling this morning, I'd definitely drank too much! After breakfast Ti and I went and dropped our laundry off up the road. They charge 50 baht per kilo and we had three kilos of clothes to wash. So it's going to cost us $5. So cheap!! For those that may have read the book The WIndup Girl, this is exactly where it ...

Day 34 - Karon/Kata Beach, Phuket

... to see Patong. Out hotel is in a little touristy town and is built on the side of the hill. The is a bit of a hill to get to our rooms, but there is a golf cart to shuttle us up which is great. After settling into our very nice rooms, we took a walk to Kata Beach. We stopped for lunch along the way. The beach was formed for tourism. It is a long finely white sand beach which curves gently around the bay. ...
