... near the University where Ildiko has been studying Hungarian. Got to the museum just in time to see lovely paintings and a film on the putzas. After dropping Ildiko at the station, we found our hotel after several trips around a block and through an archway to a bank!

... he had on our first evening in Szolnok... raspberry marinated pullet breast on mixed leaves! A nasty weather front is up ahead of us which we hope to avoid. We stop at Debrecen to have some lunch and allow the front push on a bit. We find a huge statue of Lajos Kossuth, a lawyer, journalist, politician and Regent-President of the Kingdom of Hungary during the revolution of 1848–49. Our journey is almost over and today we visited more family. We started off the day by seeing my mothers aunt Ilonka, who was the wife of her uncle George. ... it was!) because there was no wind & we were moving most of the time. It was well worth the visit, with spectacular ice stalagmites & 'tites.
Onwards through more spectacular scenery (Slovakia is definately a place to revisit) we made our way to Hungary. We followed some lorries over a very bumpy level crossing, and through the (now defunct) border post, which looked like bandits should appear from any minute.

Hungary's money is forint, and we didn't have any, ...

It's been pretty busy here in Hungary, but I finally found some time to write! A few nights ago I went to a birthday party for one of my new friends and had a really nice time.
