... got a mosquito net!
We instantly fell in love with Lembongan as soon as we arrived. It's the backpackers paradise we've been looking for. Off the beaten track, not yet fully discovered, no cars and only a few narrow roads covering the island. This is a smaller version of Bali - much smaller, very local and a chance to experience real island life.
We set off for Tirta Gangga with a quick stop in Amlapura to visit an atm. We thought while we were there that we might check out one of the small palaces listed in our guidebook. We were close to the street where they were listed and wandered over to see if we wanted to visit. After walking the length of the street, we discovered that the palaces were not in fact on that street despite Lonely Planet having listed that as the address 3 times. ...

Andy got a bit of a stomach bug, and was out of commission all of Saturday. Luckily for him, we had not planned to snorkel at all that day, though. Since Andy was out, Boo and I just shmobbed around Lembongan Island and the smaller one next to it (a very sketchy suspension bridge connected the two). We had a blast cruising around all day and found a cliff-jumping spot, too!
... The staff then waited for us to be completely packed up before informing us we could stay an extra night for free so we didn't have to move at the late hour. We declined this offer as it seemed less than sincere, and went to pay for the one night we had stayed. They gave a 10% discount which was negated by the extortionate card transaction fee (and of course, no ATMs!). Payment took about 25 minutes due to the card machine running out of paper. ... are easily remedied and diving isn't even interrupted - just continuing to swim whilst ridding the mask of water. Also onsite at Secret Garden is the 'Yoga Shack'. Never having done Yoga before, it seemed the perfect time to have a go. My perception of Yoga has always been one of relaxation and calming movements.
