Oman; Oh, man!

There is an Iranian lady on board. She is a UK citizen but still has a lot of ties with the Middle East. She was advised that a bag of frankincense was 5 rial. She ended up with 3 bags for 1.5 rial. Now THAT’S how to do it!!!

An epic blog for an epic country
... The villages were quaint and old, mostly made of mud brick, and most had old forts protecting them. The people in the towns were friendly and would come up and greet us. The women, however, were much wearier of us, particularly me. I think I should have been more covered up in the small villages – what worked in Muscat didn’t work out here in the countryside in terms of clothes. I should have been more respectful. And so here we are. We didn't have a flight waiting and the idiots at Oman Air knew nothing about us. So after more kicking up a fuss and waiting around in airports, we eventually managed to get them to print us out boarding passes for an emergency flight to London the next day. They then sent us to a hotel in the city where we caught up on some much needed sleep after a startled look ...
