We are very impressed with this area - walking tracks great, camping ground great, and there is also a day picnic area which is lovely also and you can swim here as well.

We are now sitting in the car sending this blog at Wallangarra as there is no reception at camping area, which isn't great, but hey you can't have ...

... being the boiled beetroot. This was all washed down with local wine! Our next morning began with a cooked brekky of scrambled eggs (from their chickens and one duck who thinks he's a chicken) and a zucchini and tomato dish (can't remember the Italian for it - Peppranata?). Our highlight of the day was going to Giraween NP and walking the Pyramids. We have photos of this which we'll post as soon as possible. This was a truly amazing sight of the Granite Belt's hidden beauty ...

Monday October 7th It's a long weekend in Queensland so it was fitting to drive back into Girraween N.P. and complete the longest bush walk there to the summit of Mt. Norman. We camped 9km north of Glenn Innes at rest area number 145 in the free camps ...

... our mud driving (don’t get caught in a rain storm at Menindee Lakes), before visiting Broken Hill. We had a great time there and got to go underground at an abandoned silver mine which was built for short people! From Broken Hill we went to Moree (via Nyngan) and spent a few nights, recovering in the Thermal Pools and generally relaxing after driving some 5000 kilometres. From Moree, we went to the farm at Stanthorpe (to unpack) and then home, where we prepared ...

    ... to Stanthorpe Road.

The Ingelwood to Stanthorpe Road is so scenic, mountain ranges popping up in front of you, a dam to the west, lots of farming properties. In 90 kms we only saw two cars, an added bonus.

Once in Stanthorpe we headed to a shop to buy Sharon some supplies for a project she is working on. Really lovely lady in the shop and most helpful and fun, we both learnt a lot.
