Ubud, Bali, Indonesia irenaharrison... of the journey we could go the entire way on bike or at
certain points go back to the van and ride the way back home. But OF
COURSE we would ride the entire way – so when we got into the van
and after a few minutes of driving the road improved and I realized
we could have easily finished the route I felt like a failure! Mike
was great and assured me that he was ready to stop to and it wasn't
that bad that we stopped but feeling like a ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia carlaandmike... regular cold pool with a sauna and steam room at our disposition for half a day. The reason why this isn't very regular is because of it being built into a grotto full of Hindu-inspired sculptures, hibiscus plants, and a view of the river rushing below us in the canyon. This whole atmosphere mixed in with incense put every part of my mind and body at ease. It also made me fall in love with Balinese architecture even more as people here seem to take nature into so much ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia izunia... to split up again. Tom went cycling in some rice field hills ....

[Tom: I couldn't be ***** with yet more monkeys (I am bored of them after Thailand) so I thought I'd hire a bike and go exploring. I bought a map of the local area off the tourist office in Ubud, rented the world's rustiest bike (which was apparently named 'Gary'), then set off. My plan was to cycle all the way (unfortunately mostly uphill) to Tegallalang, a town north of ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia cereal42Left Canada May 22nd, stayed in Kyoto for 5 days, very much enjoyed the city and the people, the temples were great! Went to Kuta Bali after that but wasn't much on all the surfer dudes and persistent sales people, howere, the surfing was loads of fun. Now I'm in Ubud, beautiful little artsy town with a nice feel to it. Went and saw a fire show which was fantastic and interesting. I'll go see another show tonight and do more sight seeing.
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia evotion... antsy, and we do too. We ended by just looking at the globe and not telling, but showing them where we were from. We asked them where in the whole world they would want to go... or where was their favorite place. One girl said that the only place she wants to go is Indonesia. I feel as if some of these girls feel so trapped here in their lives, with no possible idea that they someday could venture outside of Indonesia, lack the imagination to think of anywhere beyond ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia snclark8... with the aircraft staff. I thought it best to go down there and in front of the captain and assembled others go through the finer points of the days failings of their staff. It did the trick because they got off their bums and came and started talking to people and telling them what was going to happen. About 5 passengers were asking questions and videoing the the whole proceeding. There was bad karma man! Eventually we got the flight. Air Asia hang your head in shame.
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia frankoc... It is polluted, there is very heavy traffic with cars and mopeds are riding everywhere so you have to move in order to let them go as there are no sidewalks but when you are lucky to find one. it barely has enough room for one at a time. A real nightmare. Kuta is well know for its parties, so I tried to mingle, but I could not managed. 95% of the crowd was in between 17 and 19 years old of age, half naked, fully drunk (all drinks are served in giant fish bowls and ...
Bali, Indonesia njarraud... appeared we were driving into the middle of nowhere. Our driver got lost many a times, so what was supposed to be 20 minutes became an hour and twenty minutes. Finally we arrived and once again I had to practice the art of negotiating. I'm not very good at it, but getting better. I asked to see the room, which was large, basic, impeccably clean, with woven bamboo walls. It had a bed, a fan, and a private bathroom. Probably the nicest room I've stayed in at a ...
Bali, Bali, Indonesia truddick... for my own memories as for your viewing pleasure (although Im sure youre sick to death of hearing about it now.... well TOUGH!!) So, where were we... ah yes. So, after a crazy month in Thailand, I finally had to move onto my next (and final)) destination - Bali, where I was meeting up with best mate Sarah and her family for a week of rest and relaxation. This was not before a 1-night stop-over in ...
