Hey just in case anyone thinks we've neglected the blog there is honestly nothing to report! The weather is fab every day. We go out to the pub every second night and spend the following day too hungover to do much! The beach here is the most beautiful I've ever seen. We've met some interesting people. A big gang of Americans that live in Guam working as lawyers and marine biologists ...

Had a great night out! Sipping rum and coke by our room, when we were invited to join the owner and staff to eat yummy banana cakes stoln from a nearby hotel. They were lovely crowd ...

... the cost of the ferry to the island (which is only 25 pesos anyhow), so once we ensured that the minivan would be air-conditioned, we hopped in the first one we came across. At first we wondered why the minivans would be so much cheaper than the coach bus but it did not take us long to figure out the answer to that question. They really packed us in this minivan; at least 4 in every row and two people in the front seat. This may have been reasonably ...
Boracay, Visayas, Philippines aaronpolarbear... South Central LA look like Disney land. I keep yelling at him and start freaking out on him telling him hes holding us hostage by not letting us out etc etc.. My scare tactic worked perfectly, but not on the driver who simply says he can't take us back because he's used up too much of his time and gas at this point, Matias freaks out and offers the driver 800 pesos to take us back to the airport and when we all start yelling at Matias that he's being dumb he ...
Boracay, Visayas, Philippines jakeneb... to snorkeling and filling up the breathing tube with water. It was just after sunset, but I saw corals and fish below the boat. Amanda swam quite a distance, then magically was on the other side of the boat. On the way back we dropped off Julius on a gravelly beach (zoom fast approach up a steep pile of gravel) on Panay Island where he lives, then Palong, Janry, and Manda and I came back to Boracay in the dark. A fun fast sail, good ...
Boracay, Philippines hankdad... small fishes abound, with no bread supplied (If I had know, I would have snuck some bread out during breakfast hehe), so getting them to come near you was out of the question. I interviewed one of the boatmen, who said that the corals are dead due to a typhoon that hit last January / February. We went back somewhere near Station 3's boat station for lunch, it was a simple eat-all-you-can Filipino-style lunch. While eating, we chatted ...
Boracay Island, Philippines jillian_xandra... walkway and sat on the beach to watch the sunset together. Dogs were everywhere. This one funny dog kept triyng to sit by Mike and he was NOT having it!!! The dog snuck into a family photo and then left after the picture was taken. He is one keen pup. Around 7PM, we met up with Melanie and walked south to Da Mario's Italian restaurant for a Hawaiian pizza. These places are not like anywhere in America... Boracay is touristy, but it is not ...
Boracay Island, Philippines mandy13082... I seem to return to this part of the world for a needed break from the daily grind of life in the USA! The beach on the island is about 2 miles long of fine white sand that produced an awesome sunset on my first night. Past reports (2 years old) had talked about trash on the beach and trash floating in from the ocean. Seems like they have dealt with those issues as I have found the place quite clean and well kept ...
Boracay Island, Philippines bbischof... Wednesday night, went out for some food and drinks and ended up finding these great dance clubs right of the beach way down the beach. It was probably a mile's walk, if not more at 2AM! ha. On Thursday, we did our dive. I did see some big red bass (that are color changing when aggravated), a lionfish and a defaced coral! Someone had engaged a coral with "Roy The Legend". It was a sad thing to see. We thought about doing an afternoon wreck dive, but I was so pooped ...
