... down from the hills we did a walking tour of the town which is quite nice as there are so many of the streets that are pedestrian only. We went to the Market Square where a daily market is held but I think it spoils the look of what is a beautiful square. After this, we quickly packed, checked out and got into the car for the two and ...

... so many like to cruise down it. They also introduced us to a local beer (have we mentioned Germany is a beer country) and grappa, a liquor derived from wine grapes that is good as an after dinner drink. The next day we got to meet Herbert and Beate's parents, Edith and Josef. It was wonderful to sit and talk with them and have Edith show us lots of old photos and souvenirs from their adventures to visit with family in the states. I got to see photos from the old Germany farmhouse ...

... of Hofheim, super close to where he went to high school, to meet up with one of his friends at a coffee shop. I feel so unbelievably helpless here, having to ask Simon to order for me in German since all I know how to say is hello, goodbye, and how to count to ten. Luckily most people here know English, including Simon and his friend, so we were all able to talk to each other without a problem.

The city of Hofheim was very small in comparison ...
