    ... successfully with the help of a few friendly people. Germans are very helpful and if you ask for assistance go out of their way to get you to where you want to go. We arrived at the cruise boat successfully and were ushered on board to our cabin. I was initially disappointed with the view of concrete from our French balcony (see photo) until Rosanne pointed out we were still in dock!     ... the past as well as the modern. It was probably all the rage back in the day. It was nice weather, the best we've had so far so we walked along the esplanade. The Rhine is a lovely river and we saw boats like the one we are about to board tomorrow for our cruise.     ... amp; as soon as you have finished another one is served & a mark on your mat keeps tally of how many you have drunk. The idea is that the beer is always 'fresh'...cool & freshly drawn. Worked well..J had an impressive number of marks......

    ... it started. I enjoyed Dutch - I managed to read a whole article about global warming, and how this year is the warmest year on record so far. It is very similar to English, and you can get the gist of what people are saying or writing most of the time. I really expected German to be the same, or more so.     ... only worked half the time, and there were only two television shows in English. The cleaning service did make our bed but did not replace our washcloths, Qtips, or cotton pads. The coffee service in our room was boiling water in an electric kettle, instant coffee, sugar but no sweet and low. A variety of hot tea was also available.
