First of all we would like to thank everyone who emailed or sent us cards and letters through the Danielle express. We thought of everyone yesterday and miss everyone but were very satisfied with our decision to have a small wedding. It drizzled just before the ceremony (a sign of good luck) but the weather was cooperative for the remainder of the day. We spent almost 3 ...
Amalfi, Campania, Italy brandonandryanThis villa is absolutely amazing with the nicest hosts you'll find. We pass by a few, and none of them were as nice. they even have access to a beautiful private beach in case you want to avoid the messiness of the other public ones. Definitely look up this spot if you ever travel into Amalfi. webcam girls webcam tube
Amalfi, Campania, Italy abbeonline... the B&B that we ran into three or four times but they spoke Italian so we just kind of looked at each other and smiled. We were hungry so we decided to look for a bite – we tucked into a ristorante by the beach and ordered a pizza and a salad and watched the waves crash on the private beach as cruise ship tourists gabbed about how beautiful the place was. Too bad for them they had to get back on a ...
Positano, Campania, Italy brandonandryanToday was a sunnier day. We took the ferry from Amalfi to the Island of Capri. It was about 2 hours long. We sat on the outside deck of the boat to get pictures of the different towns and sights along the way. It was great for the pictures but it was damn cold even with the sun. We arrived in Capri at around 11am and went to AnaCapri right away because we were on our way to the Grotto Azzura, blue grotto. This was why we came to the island. When we finally ...
Capri, Campania, Italy brandonandryan... turquoise jewelery and of course, gelato. There were also a lot of american tourists from a cruise ship. Some of them were *****ing about the weather and all I could think is, you’re on the Amalfi Coast who cares what the weather is like, it’s still amazing. *****! Anyways, the rain got so bad at times that we had to stand in covered pathways to stay dry. But it was still a good day. We had pizza for lunch at a place that’s awning said we serve "wine ...
Amalfi, Campania, Italy brandonandryan... the bus we gobbled down one calzone each which were terrible, but we did not care because all we had all day was a bun and juice from the Hostel. We left Venice around 8:30am and spent the entire day travelling getting into Amalfi around 9:30pm. Long day! We should have slept on the bus but it was not that kind of busride. It was more like a ride in an amusement park. Several times all you would see a rock or ...
Furore, Campania, Italy brandonandryan... news of today, the repair of the back shock kills all my plans for the journey back home. Because of this and also because of the increasing cold of approaching winter, there is no itineary anymore and Switzerland will be approached in more or less direct way.
Date of return to Switzerland remains unknown so far.

Thankfully we made it to Anacapri - although I did get caught in the opening door of the bus (my tummy is bigger than what I thought). From here, we decided to try again and walk to the Blue Grotto and at the same time see the sights in town. The walk turned out to be longer than expected; maybe an hour. It's quite beautiful so if you have the time, it's worth it.
We finally made it to the Blue Grotto where we had to take the steps ...
... and a white pillow from the after party. In case you have not seen the pics in my album on myspace, here are several behind-the-scenes shots. Speaking of the after party, it was held on a wide balcony overlooking the marina. While there, I was asked by a couple different people to take pictures with them. I was also asked to join some Italian celebrity in her VIP room, but I ...
Anacapri, Italy matt.lawrence... reading a good book I picked up in the Naples hostel right now about a similar topic related to American tourism and media in the East. It's called "Video Night in Kathmandu," by Pico Iyer, and beside making me want to go to Indonesia, it points out the hypocrisy inherent in wanting to freeze a spot "as you remember it." Will give a final rating when I'm past the first essay, but, so far, it's spot on even though it was written twenty years ago.
