... short, the damn route got us lost and we ended up doing another massive detour. At rixheim, we eventually turned around to try to find any kind of river to camp on. Rivers are nice. We didnt find the rhine, but ended up staying on the banks of a kittle canal which was super pretty and a fair distance from any dodgy dog walkers!

As part of our weekend trip south, we set Freiburg im Breisgau as our

... A lady in the town square was selling donuts so we bought some and it took so long to find a place to get lunch that by that time I had eaten 3 donuts!! Mon Dieu!! A Nanna nap (donut coma) was called for before we headed out for dinner. Our hotel caters for coach tours and so the restaurant at the hotel was full and very noisy so we opted for the Turkish restaurant across the road....for old times sake!!!
