Mulberry Inn Savannah

... Pirate House. Which is a tavern where real pirates used to drink at. Now it is a restaurant, but it is in the same exact building. I'm not even kidding when I say he was super excited, HIs eyes lit up like a fat kid's in a candy store! :) Since we got to Savannah so late the rest of the exploring will have to wait until the morning...<br><br>So on that note it's off to bed for us...<br><br>Jess &amp; Nic<br>

Wandering Woman and I took a trolley car tour of Savannah today. It is the only Southern city that was not burned by Sherman and has substantial antebellum architecture, unlike other Southern cities.<br><br>The Historic District is filled with live oaks and Spanish moss, and old buildings. One thing I learned on the tour was that the term "fair to middlin'" originated from cotton graders. Fair was OK, middlin' was good.<br><br>Pics tell the story.

Visited the Savannah History Museum in an old train station.The Tourist information Center is there also.The artifacts of the city of Savannah are displayed.<br>Ate lunch at Clary's Cafe of the Book.<br>Toured the Williams Mercer House.The house in the book Midnight at the Garden of Evil.The house has eclectic decor.At the end of the ...

... yam,lima beans,black eyed peas,macaroni and cheese,,banana pudding and peach cobbler.<br>Went to the Owens Thomas House and had a guided tour.The architecture is regency.<br>Had ice cream at Leopold's,an old fashioned ice cream parlor with black and white tile floors.(since 1913).Walk to the Central market.Walked at Riverside Street and saw the statue again of the Waving Lady.<br>Walk the Factor Walks to the old cotton buildings.<br>Take out dinner from Shoney.s .Not good.

... the door thinking that would fix the problem. The next day someone else got stuck. Exasperated, the owners took the lock completely off the door. Nonetheless, woman would be stuck in the ladies room. To this day they encourage the buddy system. One person would stand outside the door while the other is inside.The weirdest part of all is that if someone is locked in, if someone is standing outside, they can easily pull the door open. Savannah is really a great place to visit. If you go make sure to take the trolley tours, it's well worth the money. It's nice to sit back, not worry about the traffic and listen to your guide as he narrates the tour. You are free to get on and off as you wish, because there are many areas where you will like to spend some time.

We had a funny dog story in Savannah.
