... and get Ray’s glasses fixed for a tenth of the price as back home!

On our last full day in Thailand, Ray noticed that his camera was missing so all four of us headed out to retrace his steps. He and Sue had last seen it where they had stopped earlier when the rain had come down so we went everywhere from there. Ray remember being near the sea and jumping to dodge a big wave so when we couldn’t find it anywhere else, we assumed ...

There were a few steep hills to climb and you had to watch for tree roots etc. There was also quite a few streams to cross, one where we walked along a couple of planks of wood or threw the water – we all chose the wood. ... and hit the bamboo early. I would learn soon later that my bloody knee was about to show its true colors. I woke to pee out my bamboo hut window in the middle of the night, and felt some serious pain as the blood rushed to the joint ( my knee that is...). **** balls. It really hurt. I sucked it up and slept, but the next day I was forced to sit out the hike, and lay around like a lump. At least it was in a stunning landscape!

... The teachers meanwhile were tucking into some delicious looking grilled fish, some spicy pork, rice of course and a variety of interesting vegetables and green leaves.

It was raining again by the time we returned to Khao Lak. After a particularly heavy shower I decided to venture down to the beach and did manage about an hour there before the clouds looked threatening again and it seemed prudent to head for cover. I nearly got home before the heavens opened ...
