      ... late checkout at 2pm and an hours drive to Phuket airport for our Etihad departure at 8.30pm.       ... you only had to look behind you to realise the utter pitch blackness that surrounded us. The jungle was alive with the sounds of birds, frogs and other nocturnal creatures.       ... a day pack for the night as our big bags weren't going to be coming with us on the lake. A bit more driving and we came to the lookout point at the Ratchaprapha Dam, the view was amazing and while I still had cell service, was a good opportunity to send everyone a snapchat gloating that I was here while they were at work.
