The walk up to the caves was special too, a charming walk through the rainforest (in the dry this time) was really lovely, you could hear animals all around, birds and monkeys, Poo told us what they were as we walked and pointed out some trees and other things ...

... than two weeks to go to Christmas the restaurants and hotels have started to put up some trees and lights but there are still many fewer visitors here than you would have expected. The restaurant at Phu Khao Lak, usually so popular and full to capacity was barely half full when I ate there during the week and when I arrived at the Red Chilli Restaurant for my customary Friday night hot-pan fish curry I was their only customer.
