I dined at Tonson Restaurant on Friday night. This had always been my favourite restaurant on the beach for candlelit dinners under the stars. In its new position on the main street it was a good people watching spot and my green curry with chicken was excellent but I was the only customer and the atmosphere ...

... to go over to Bang Niang on Monday night to eat at Mars Bar, a British owned bar about which I had heard a lot but never visited and then go to the nightly ladyboy show at Moo Moo Cabaret. Sue cried off with a bad stomach but I met Nicky at 7.30 and we were soon in a taxi heading for Bang Niang.
