... in Trier. I am anxious to see if I can find the apartment building where I lived when my Dad was stationed there in 1957. I never forgot the address or its general location. Stay tuned.
The weather has been staying mild and promises to stay so for a while longer. We are looking forward to our trip south and back to some of the old haunts (especially the gasthofs). We will photo some of the finer culinary delights.
... the Canadian Support Unit in Geilenkirchen. Dan and I served together in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia back in the mid-90s.

... Although I have to say I think it always was, a level of concentration is required for knitting, embroidery and other handwork. The old wood statues are amazing, dating back to 1460. And still with some paint. The books were beautiful, stored in specially sealed drawers to preserve them. The statue of Christ laid out with an empty place for those who chose to lay alongside was confronting. At first ...

Later I sit and watch some TV, the Dutch version of Great British Bakeoff and a quiz show that has none of the useless drama we have in Australia, no long pauses while we wait for the correct answer etc. and I find I know some answers even if I'm guessing the question!
