... it was a stupid idea but sure enough I would see people popping out buying their goods. Very similar to the ice cream man.
The trip to Pusan to Hiedu Islands, which is about 40 miles off the coast of Mok Po, was about 10 hours total with all the stops. We stopped and checked out a green tea farm, which was beautiful mountainous landscape with rows and rows of perfectly cut green tea bushes. Then we went to the Meat Market were there were multiple ...
... clothes. Learned from past traveling. So some of the kids (which included Min and I) decided to walk barefoot around the temple compounds for half an hour. After that, I took one of my infamous micro naps and woke up with drool on my poncho. The drumming ceremony was exciting to see these monks do their stuff. Everyone had a different rhythm.
We ate at a most original restaurant who serves its own plants.
... top of the hill usually for buyers of the massive ships they build. We felt a little underdress but they said it was fine because we were with the president. It was very nice to know people in high places. Preston had the pasta and tried some of the korean food. We ate a lot because it was customary to eat a lot to show appreciation for the meal they provide. After we said our goodbyes we went ...
Yŏngam, South Jeolla, Korea Rep. azianshrimp... completely by myself again after spending so long in the company of someone you know so well. Anyway, Tuesday was hard. The weather was a bit grey and Daecheon seemed dead with not much to offer. I went to bed pretty early... wow this is great blogging right here... ANYWAY Wednesday was MUCH better, the sun was out and it was a glorious day. I didn't do much besides laze around on the empty beach and ...
Gwangju, Korea Rep. vivtong... We had a very interesting lecture here and then we moved on (changed into a military bus) to Panmunjom proper. Here is the place where the North and the South are at its closest (the DMZ is normally 4 kilometers wide). Exactly on the border are some UN buildings which we visited as well and the northern part of the building was technically on North Korean soil (so this way I have been to North Korea). We also saw some serious looking North Korean ...

Gwangju, Korea Rep. sf2paris... of Korea's largest tea plantations. We were able to hike up various paths among the tea-lined hillsides, which was pretty cool. There were several little shops where we could buy tea, bathroom products made from the tea, etc. We thought about buying some, but neither of us really like hot tea and all of the tea produts came in large containers (or just seemed strange). We did eat at the cafe, though, and had an ...

After our dinner together, my dad's youngest brother and I return to the farmhouse, where I spent the night with my grandmother at the farmhouse. Its a simple structure built of woodbeams on an elevated mud base with a thatched roof and paper laminated walls. Until last year, it was heated by a combined cooking hearth ...
Kimje, Korea Rep. soohyung... for 23 years and speaks almost perfect English. Nicole has got a young teacher called Heyoung who also speaks great English and is pregnant. Heyoung was very excited to meet as we were very young (having heard we were a couple she assumed we were and old married couple who had a mid life crisis). After helping us with our bags and getting our alien cards from immigration we headed off, though several red lights, to our home GANGJIN for the next year....
