... retreat was for 2 weeks but due to the expense, I chose to add it to my travels for one week. It was a day-long journey to get tere from Koh Lanta - I was in a van to ferry to van to plane to van to wooden boat to arrive at the sanctuary where the retreat was being held. ... our translator, Atom, was a cute woman with so much enthusiasm and smiles it was very difficult not to be happy while around her. Such a wonderful woman that both me and thomas hope to stay in contact with. I could spend all night talk about the amzing kindness of both Mr Bird (the manager) and his wonderful staff, but i still dont think i could do them justice. Surratthani isnt the most 'touristy' areas. But that is part of its charm, with some really cool people. ...

I end up cycling off the pier, along lovely beaches and come to a Military type base where I had to sign in for some reason and I was surprised to find a Military runway which I had stop to take a wee picture of the bike slap bang in the middle of – I doubt that’ll ever happen again, but I didn't find where I was meant to sign out?
