Zo jammer, maar dit alweer onze laatste blog over China. Wij zijn ondertussen aangekomen in Hanoi. Morgen komt Annie (zus Margriet) en Roel (oom Margriet) aan in Hanoi. Superleuk! Annie gaat de komende 3 weken met ons mee reizen en Roel is toevallig net in deze periode voor werk in Vietnam.

Nanning, China
Took the bus from Guilin to Nanning, a five hour bus journey. The scenery was lovely and they provided us with water and a little brioche loaf for the journey. One toilet stop. Not another European on the bus, all Chinese! We managed to buy our bus tickets for the journey to Hanoi tomorrow and found the hotel by the bus station. No one speaks English. A Boring End To A Brilliant Country
With a population in excess of 2 million Nanning is hardly what you would call a small town. One of the largest cities in the south it is used primarily by tourists as a hopping stop between China and Vietnam. When it comes to attractions of note however Nanning is abit light on the ground. I arrived in Nanning later on the 28th than I planned because my train was delayed. To my horror, the bus stations had closed already. I tried very, very hard to purchase a bus ticket to Hanoi the night I arrived but after much running around and pleading with people that I just couldn't communicate with, it didn't happen.
