A midday dock today so plenty of time to enjoy the delights of the ship this morning. We've taken to breakfasting at the back of the ship and its virtually our own private balcony. It's maybe a new tradition. This morning was exceptionally good as we saw 2 whales playing, clear as a bell near to the ship. Bit to quick for the camera unfortunately so lots of pictures of the sea, but the pictures are there in our heads. We moved on to the front of the ship for ...

... sides. We shared a lovely bottle of red wine (Patrimonio, 2011, from Domaine Giacometti). The curry wasn't what I had expected--it came with spaghetti, not rice, and had more turmeric than curry taste.

The ferry departed Bastia on time at 8am and the crossing to Livorno took about 3 and 1/2 hours.

Corsica was nice to visit, we probably missed things we should have seen but you always do! We must say that the prices on this little island were much higher than we expected so we are pleased to be on our way back to Italy. ...

Historical and beautiful

I packed this morning as today is our last day on the ship. It was easier and less traumatic than I thought and we had plenty of room, so I can shop in Italy still!

Today we berthed in Ajaccio (pronounced Ajaxxio), on the isle of Corsica and the home of the Maison Bonaparte. It is a very small port and ...
