Left the hotel early and were taken to Joburg airport. Much bigger plane than I expected and we landed on time in Livingstone, Zambia. It was like landing in Cayman 35 years ago, for the first time. It is a very primitive airport with immigration that seemed very sleepy. We were picked up and taken to a lovely hotel about 30 minutes away. After checking in, we had lunch. Joburg is very different from Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, even from the short drive we had through it. Very dirty. Not very friendly looking. But the place we're staying is really nice, and we've met some awesome people on our bus who are here too. So we're still in good spirits.

So excited to Tanzania though, can't even control it. Zanzibar... where Freddie Mercury was born... need I say more.

Today France and South Africa AND Mexico lost in one way or another.

Mexico and France were beaten outright, and South Africa lost a spot in the last 16 on goal difference. Urugauy were the only true winners, edging Mexico 1-0 on a first-half goal from Luis Suarez. They topped the group with a round 7 points (with wins against S.A. and Mexico, and a draw with France.)
