10 August, 2001 with a return on 15 August,2001. Also hiked here 2003 and on several other ocassions. Best time to visit is summer, at least for me. Enough winter experience in Ottawa so don't need even more. For us the reason to go there, was to climb the 46 peaks. Each of these 46 peaks is to be 4000 feet or more in altitude. ... was time to hit the slopes...we hope. the only way out to the mountain was by taxi. the shuttle is due to start up the next day. The lady at reception called the cab company and would you believe it, they would be about two hours! While we were working out what to do another lady at reception offered to take us in a van that the hotel was borrowing, so nice. I must say, everyone is really lovely. ... glad to be in a car with the heater on today! Some of the ponds we past had already started icing over, that's how cold it is. Also, there were icicles hanging off a rock overhang where the water used to run off. It was great to be able to drive the back roads and see the little towns beyond the main cities. Some of the houses still had left over halloween decorations, pity we couldn't see them all a week ago! ...
... waste of money...we forgot....see what happens when you mix up tours and do too much planning??! If we could have tasted a few different flavours...that would have made it worthwhile. but no... The best bit was visiting the flavour cemetery which wasn't part of the tour. Very 'tastefully' done with headstones for each flavour that had ceased production. On each headstone was the name, a picture, a poem about the flavour and dates of availability. We get ...
