... t leave until about 4 when I went out for a walk!. Tonight we met three couples from Renegades for dinner. On the way "home" we thought it was starting to rain because something was hitting the windshield. Turned out it was bugs, lots and lots of bugs. They almost covered the windshield. Not sure what we will be doing tomorrow, but thinking of driving down to Longview and Kilgore. We'll make that decision tomorrow morning.

... suspended in 1941 due to WWII, and resumed in 1946. It is one of the oldest annual festivals in the state. It is held the third weekend in Oct and is a smaller version of San Antonio's Fiesta. As we went through the museum, we learned that Johnnie Mathis was born in Gilmer. He left there when he was about 4 when his family moved to CA. Also born in Gilmer is Don Henley (founder and lead singer of The Eagles).

... tell him where I was. Took a hike (about 2 miles), flat, but lots of pretty foliage. Saw a turtle, a frog, and a rabbit. ... slooooooowly slid backward on the hitch. It stopped a couple inches before it dropped off the hitch and onto the bed. Catastrophe averted. Pride and self-confidence significantly reduced. That was one of the worst feelings I've experienced.

Went out to get buzz cuts for me and Dean. He looks completely different! Had enormous burgers and way too many fries at Mt. Pleasant Burgers and Fries.

We left Memphis Thai morning, it was so cold and took so long to get to our rest stop because we had to drive so slowly because of all the ice in the road.
