... co-operative selling local produce which was nice to wander round (not for the boys!) but shopping is always frustrating as we are so restricted on buying stuff because of weight and size - we did manage a wee pot of rhubarb jam tho! Orangina and ice-creams placated the boys and we returned to the gite for one final swim - with both Mum and I being very brave as well! BBQ for tea - and a good way to eat up the fridge. ...

... We managed a pit-stop of frites for lunch and were flagging in the heat by the afternoon. ... thro the village esp as it was harvest time. There was even a notice in the Spar shop warning of 'mouissons' on the road which, when we asked, worked out were combine harvesters! The gite is an original 1600's farmhouse, fully modernised (except no dishwasher, so the boys had to step on domestic chores!) and the nearby church is 13-14th C altho we didn't manage to look inside.
