    Training to take the train

    ... though. We walked to the beach, and had another really nice dinner out. Walking some of the streets here is good agility training for hockey - you have to constantly dodge dog poop on the sidewalks. Quite gross. We will spend the night in Nice, and take another train tomorrow to La Brigue, where we will begin our one week hike! No idea how tough it will be - guess we'll find out ...

    What stunning weather here, 9 days here on this campsite all in the 30's... We managed to find a afternoon shaded pitch that was near the showers and had a satellite signal to watch the first week of Wimbledon. The campsite was adjacent to a canal and only 300yards from the Supermarket. We throughly enjoyed our time here and ...

    Well we didn't stay to listen to the frogs and have moved along to Quarre-Les-Tombes for a night in its Aire. A great stopover in Quarre-Les-Tombes with a little village square, few shops and cafe/bars.     We stayed on this fabulous lakeside Aire in Mountsauche-Les-Settons, some lovely walks along the waters edge, Tia off the lead having fun exploring. We parked next to two British Vans and met some nice people, helped Di and Frank with there iPads etc ...

    ... but instead, I was still 11km away. So I had walked a full 36km, and I still had 11km to go. And really, I had 16km to go, because the road took a slightly longer route than the trail.
