... shop, so Pam and I treated ourselves to a taste of Seattle before boarding the plane. The gate area was packed with people waiting to board. Many of the people waiting are apparently Japanese who will disembark when we land in Nagoya. Most of the rest are Filipinos heading home. ... me too much. They did have some intimidating Tiger statues but it lacked that certain something that most of the other Parks have had. Perhaps it was because most of the ticket takers and concessions people seemed absolutely miserable or maybe it was due to the worry in the back of our heads that our car was going to come completely apart on the drive back afterwards.

Leaving for Gichigami

... and then back to Detroit Monday afternoon. Total distance approx, 1700 miles.

I left my home near Detroit just before 3 PM to meet my riding buddy Peter in Howell, MI at the intersection of US-23 and M-59, a distance of about 40 miles. From there we would ride together to Sault Saint Marie, hopefully beating most of the holiday traffic heading up north.
