We left Rimounski at about 8 AM this morning. We had a long day on the river but it was calm with little wind. The small towns and villages are pretty to look at and scattered along the river. There were several very long stretches with wind mills. Stainte-Anne-des-Monts Marina is a very safe harbor enclosed by high rock sea walls. We may be here for a couple of days due to a high wind warning. We will keep you ...

... through parts of Forillon National Park. We missed going to the very eastern tip of the Gaspe Peninsula but came close. Stopped at La chute but snow prevented us from wanting to do the hike. It was warm through the park. After La Chute (Waterfall) we saw a couple beaver homes and then a sign for Le Castor (Beaver) and drove in ... another home and even a motorhome -- these have been rare. Such an amazing ...

    ... in a park.

We got the kids out of the tent, and put them in the car in their sleeping bags and then Rob and I carried the tent up the road all set up, and climbed the hill to our new site. I stayed set it up and he wet back for more gear and then later the kids. We slid them in the tent-in a much nicer site. After all of this Rob and I were definitely not cold anymore! We went to bed and could hear the river running nearby.

I'm making good time towards Ste Anne des Monts and I pass through Cap Chat which has a massive array of wind turbines (133) and the worlds largest vertical axis turbine, Éole, I drop by for a closer look. A young and very eager tour guide shows me around and wows me with the facts of the system. I arrive in Ste Anne des Monts and find another backpackers oasis, Sea Shack. I set up camp have a few beers with the other travelers and watch a stunning sunset over the St ...

... sunset over the now pretty wide river. After dinner we headed off to Sainte Anne des Monts where we believed that there was a Walmart to park at. Around 8.45pm we arrived into Sainte Anne and couldn't find Walmart, so we asked in a filling station, where we were informed that there was no Walmart here. It turns out we passed the nearest one an hour back the way we came, so we asked in the garage if we could park out the ...
