... Martin and I find that anything above -10°C is not that cold, unless it's windy. The wind chill here can take it very quickly from -10°C to feeling like -20°C. Take right now for instance, the wind is currently only 24MPH according to my phone, but that takes the temperature from -13°C to feeling like -24°C. And 24MPH is a fairly low wind for here. We've had it up to 80MPH I think.
Mmmmm. I love maple syrup. ...

... day we had training all. day. It was a really long day, but I did pick up some interesting ideas which I'm going to try. That evening we were all taken to a Sugar Shack for a traditional Quebecoise dinner. It was so much fun, there was an accordion player who played some of the traditional party classics. Life has never been more surreal than dancing to the Macarena played on an accordion! We were given maple syrup taffy which was really nice - basically ...
... a base of cream cheese and sour cream with pizza toppings and then dip nachos and carrots and peppers and other things in it. It's SO GOOD. We then had a girly night in on the sofa with the Princess Diaries.
As you can see, we're living it up! Thankfully, next week we're heading down to Quebec city for training and then I'm meeting Chris for a mini-road trip. As much as I like Sainte-Anne-Des-Monts, I'm really excited to get out ...
... in the tradition of sharing things you are thankful for on Thanksgiving, here are a couple of mine:
- I have wonderful friends and family who put up with (and sometimes even encourage!) my crazy addiction to travelling.
- The British Council have once again allocated me a beautiful place to live.
