The Sendlinger Tor location is fabulous. So close to many restaurants and within walking distance to everything! Also, right next to the metro. The neighborhood is cute, and even though you are in next to places that tend to get loud at night, you can't hear a thing!

You were able to walk straight up to the window, which you couldn't do at the Fernsehturm in Berlin, even though that too was brilliant. Liam and I got a coin pressed as a souvenir, then the three of us headed upstairs to the open-air viewing platforms. The weather was cloudy but warm, as it had been for much of the holiday, but it still offered a great view. Liam and I signed our own names on ...

Between everything being significantly smaller than in the US and all the directions and settings being in German, doing the laundry has never been more fun! Ha! Living out of a suitcase the past couple weeks left us with a lot of dirty clothes and a chance for me to really figure out the washer and dryer.

Now, I think the appliances are simple compared to the ...

... in the BMW museum was also a fantastic exhibition of Rolls Royce motor vehicles. This place was huge and needed a very long time to appreciate everything, however it was soon after 11am and we had to make our way over to the Olympic stadium for a tour. We rushed the ten minute or so walk across the parklands to the Olympic stadium which was the venue for the 1972 Olympic Games. We had originally wanted to do a tour of the stadium and also abseil down the side wall, however as ...

... got on the wrong train, but followed an old couple rocking hardcore Oktoberfest gear). I can truly say that I've never seen so many people in my life. Everywhere. And we weren't even in the tents yet. Incredible. We walked through the crowd towards the Löwenbräu tent where the other Kiwis were.
This is when things got crazy for me: Usually you have to wait in an at least 2 hour line to get into the tents if you don't have reservations. Even 2 hours on a ...

Across the street, the very large Englischer Garten was waiting, and we enjoyed watching people surfing the break at the point where the river enters the garden - they looked very cold!. After wandering through the garden for a while, we settled down at the Biergarten for a simple, and ...
