The Sendlinger Tor location is fabulous. So close to many restaurants and within walking distance to everything! Also, right next to the metro. The neighborhood is cute, and even though you are in next to places that tend to get loud at night, you can't hear a thing!

Samson still not 100% today. He woke with plenty of energy after a good night's sleep. We departed by 10.30 and headed onto the auto-bahn for Munich. The plan was to stop to visit the Audi factory on our way at Ingolstadt, but Samson fell asleep in the car saying he was cold again. We decided to press on to Munich and arrived about 2pm. We checked …

Briony and Rach stayed out shopping a little longer to get phil his birthday presents. Phil and I walked back to his mothers where I sat down on her ridiculously comfortable chair that curves into your back and is the perfect chair for reading. I fell asleep in the chair reading The Shining as phil was on the couch relaxing when the girls came home. We went out for ...

... every 100m or so across the width of the river. 60 something years ago some American engineer wanted to surf the wave that the concrete blocks made but couldn't. He worked out that with a board tied to a nearby bridge that he could create a surf able wave. It's pretty impressive to see. The park was nice, lots of green. It's also huge. It has rivers, bike trails, fields for dogs or ball sports, ...

... We managed though..JUST. Despite the tight squeeze we both slept reasonably well. Our SEARS sleeping bags served their purpose well and we didn't feel that cold overnight. I think exhaustion from a late night interview, a long flight and then an overland commute through Germany, had all helped. We rose early so we could get a bus to the grounds well before the tents opened. We wanted to be in a queue from 9am so we were guaranteed a seat when the doors burst open at 11am. ...

... we could unplug and go whenever! Thursday morning we left to go to Innsbruck (via Stuttgart) and hit so many traffic jams! Constant road works all the way down to Munich...groan and its soooo hot! Aiming now to find a site next to the lake at Reintalersee, Kramsach. And a stop over for a couple of days.
