The Sendlinger Tor location is fabulous. So close to many restaurants and within walking distance to everything! Also, right next to the metro. The neighborhood is cute, and even though you are in next to places that tend to get loud at night, you can't hear a thing!

Samson still not 100% today. He woke with plenty of energy after a good night's sleep. We departed by 10.30 and headed onto the auto-bahn for Munich. The plan was to stop to visit the Audi factory on our way at Ingolstadt, but Samson fell asleep in the car saying he was cold again. We decided to press on to Munich and arrived about 2pm. We checked …

For example, Verona to Munich would have been €80 each but instead we only had to pay €7 each for the reservation making it much cheaper (even when dividing the cost per journey of our ...

It was actually one of the easiest trips we've been on so far though. We could speak English to everyone, we used the subways to get around no problem, and we were embraced and accepted by everyone we met. Sharing that whole experience with my friends was amazing.

... was able to pass on some of that history. The letters on the ground are copies of anti-Nazi leaflets distributed by a brother and sister and another young man, they threw them off the balcony, were captured and executed.

It was a lovely mild evening and still quite light so the walk was really nice and relaxing. We stopped at a good place for dinner, nice to be able to sit outside, relax and catch up on what we’d all been ...

... for more time than necessary! We checked in and then went back to a Gasthaus we saw for Wiener Schnitzel and Spaetzle (and Jim's first beer in Germany!). Delicious!

The next day I had booked a tour that went to a close town, Hohenschwangau to visit the castle Neuschwanstein. We had to get up early and navigate our way by metro to the meeting point for the tour. Surprisingly we arrived early and did ...
