The Sendlinger Tor location is fabulous. So close to many restaurants and within walking distance to everything! Also, right next to the metro. The neighborhood is cute, and even though you are in next to places that tend to get loud at night, you can't hear a thing!

Samson still not 100% today. He woke with plenty of energy after a good night's sleep. We departed by 10.30 and headed onto the auto-bahn for Munich. The plan was to stop to visit the Audi factory on our way at Ingolstadt, but Samson fell asleep in the car saying he was cold again. We decided to press on to Munich and arrived about 2pm. We checked …

At all. Turned out she was reading it just fine. But we had the luxury of a rail …

However, when the Nazi party fell, the museum was converted into a modern art museum as sort of a nod to the modern art resistance, and to demonstrate that the Nazis failed at silencing their creativity.

... so had to drag my far too heavy suitcase up a long flight of steps :(

At the top of the steps we could easily see our hotel, the Torbrau, which is apparently the oldest hotel in central Munich. We checked in and were very happy with our rooms, they were small but beautifully appointed.

... is so much more to Munich than Hitler and the Nazi party. We did a Third Reich tour after that, which was informative, but really just outlined actual places that Hitler used to launch his campaign, speak, etc. Tomorrow we are going on a tour of Dachau Concentration camp. I'll write more about that after we go. For now, we're resting in our hotel room after walking in the cold rain all day. Need to rehydrate and gear up for anything we might do for dinner. ...
