... was outrageous, sooooo many trucks and of course everything travelling very quickly. It was most tiring for John as the driver. The closer we got to Milan the worse it got, anyway, we survived. Luckily the road basically bypasses Milan and we were soon in Como.

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

On Friday we were planning to go into an old town about an hours drive away which looked quite nice, but it was pouring rain all day so we decided not to. Driving around here is bad enough never mind with the rain! Instead we just went for a walk into the town and starting filling in some of the forms for uni and just had a relaxing day inside.

... to go out for dinner. Our driver could barely speak English but you could tell he wanted to practise as he wouldn't shut up. I was trying to practise my Italian and he just shut me down. After our last Italian meal we went back the hotel and had to do what every traveller loves doing - packing! Courtney and I were rather delirious so packing took a lot longer than expected. ... less flavored and not particularly outstanding, though Andy liked one and I liked a younger cows cheese. So another two wedges of cheese are added to the lunch box esky, along with a mountain rose jelly (that tastes a little like Turkish delight) we were told is a delicacy of the area. Only those with a special licence may pick the wild mountain roses to use. Andy couldn't resist, and now we also have a jar of this to consume! We continued on our way, Andy ...
