... and make sure their visit is pleasant. We hike into the business district, stop at a Tim Horton's for coffee, Canadian Tire for some AAA cells then on to the Museum. They have much to show and much to tell about the history of Sept Iles. There is a section dedicated to the aviation history of this place. A young fellow gives us a personal ...

Quebec City, Quebec, Canada elenabetancourt... meeting up with the rest of the crowd and paryting the night away at Chez Maurice.Sunday was then made up of sleigh-rides, skating shows and snow sights before jumping on the evening bus back to the Georges :-) Part Two Week two of festival fun was a one-day extravaganza starting and ending in St-G. Carnaval sights this week involved rolling maple syrup in snow to make lollipops, blowing our horns at ...
Quebec City, Quebec, Canada kristenmc... my new host was Christian. Very nice guy, and had an appartment on the 16th floor facing mount royal. You could probably get the best view from his place. He took me to the best place in town to get Poutine. Poutine is apparently a very quebecian think, french fries with sauce and fromage (cheese). La Banquise. Christian is also a pilot and promised to take me on a trip if i come in summer.
Quebec City, Quebec, Canada pmak... i am hungry i cant makeup my mind on what to end. Finally ended up in a fallafel shop. An interesting aspect of Quebec is that people are so fedup with the whole religion thing, that they have converted all the churches into useful places like the library and hotels. Also the french call libraries bibliotheque and the bookstores libraires. Which cofuses me so much. Anyway i ended up in a library that was ...
Quebec City, Quebec, Canada pmak... crepes for dinner. We got lost on the way but have GPS in our rental Subaru which was a lifesaver. Not much was open but we went into a bookstore and looked around. Now I am back here getting ready to pack for the next leg of our trip (Montreal). Side notes: Toddlers here have it great, parents pull them around on sleds everywhere they go. Also, I have never seen so many people run out in front of buses that are on icy roads, suprised we aren't hearing of more deaths by bus here.
Quebec City, Quebec, Canada littlefootann... The area also had some outdoor fireplaces so you could stay thawed even if you weren't drinking. By now, it was snowing on us pretty hard, so we headed back to our warm concierge lounge for snacks. A couple observations after our first day around town: - Yes, they really do speak primarily French - on the menus, radio, TV, everywhere. You would have to learn French to live here (though as a tourist, it isn't hard to get by - lots of ...
