... see the Ottawa River to the south of us as we drove along the two-lane highway. We ended up in the small town of Lachute. It's Friday night here and the locals are out in droves celebrating the start of the weekend. Looks like they have fun in this town. We're using a nearby Tim Horton's (Canada's version of Starbucks) for wifi, and Riley is sitting comfortably at the local Walmart. Tomorrow we will probably be staying at a ...

Kat from Glasgow tried maple syrup for the first time in her life. She has been missing out!

... the drive back to Ottawa. It just so decided to snow like **** on the drive back which converted our normal 2 hour drive to 3 and a half. This stressed Jenny out a little bit as she was having her welcome home party tonight.

We finally arrived in Ottawa at about 9:30 and luckily no one had turned up yet. The party got under way at about 11 and it was a true American Pie style "kegger" Imagine 3 kegs, red cups, ...

... was super super sweet and even between the 5 of us, we didn't finish it. As was tradition, we all made our way back to the hostel and sat by the fire and had some beers. We met a massive group of Canadians and Alex and I beat them in pool no less than 10 times in a row. As a result, they took the huge map on the wall of the hostel and drew a love heart around Perth.
