Africam Safari / talavera /highest point in Puebla

... for me which was comforting too. I really, really, really enjoyed the Africam Safari and am very glad i had the opportunity to go. Even though i could not understand what the guide was saying i really enjoyed seeign all the animals...it may have even been a blessing because if i had been trying to pay attention to the guide i may have missed some of the animals. I believe this is the closest i have ever been to many of the animals i saw today! (with the ...

"I'm Sorry" = phrase of the day

... to Africa (someday, hopefully!)...kindof like when we went to the imax to find they were showing a film about the animals of canada, if i want to learn about canada i will go there, right now i am in mexico. But anyway, as i was flipping the pages of the book i came across it and found that it is a drive through zoo best seen by bus that will pick you up either downtown or at the bus station. Hummm...this could actually be a very good option...I get on the bus, view the ...

... the state. From there we went to the Cathedral of Santiago. This was started in 1745 and it dominates the rather impressive plaza. The entrance portal is covered in "Churrigueresque figures and elaborately carved columns of pale grey stone. It is reputedly one of the finest in Mexico. Inside the transepts are full of gilt ornamentation and at the very top of the dome you can just make out a human figure looking down the aisle ...

... and some frustration, the bus is fixed and ready for action! photos will also be added here in the future, still no USB ports. Our hotel owners directed us to some great local eateries. So far, great food, no stomach problems and we´re now off to the town of Real de Catorce. It´s suppose to be sleepy little "ghost town" that houses the state´s peyote supply (used by a local Indian tribe). It also happens to be where "The Mexican" was filmed, but we will try to avoid the Hollywood hype.

Cuatro Ceinagas

... The ride back home was tough but I was so thankful to get back to Parras. That night I wanted to watch The Simpsons which I haven't been able to catch and figured it would be comforting to see something familiar while not feeling well but my host mother informed me that it is only on week days. I was a bit too upset about that so I decided to have tea with milk for comfort and went to bed. I slept quite a bit on Sunday and became very frustrated with my family ...

Saltillo

... museum and an apparently good university. Apart from these, there is really not much else, just suburbs and businesses, oh, I guess beef is worth mentioning - it was really good, well above the European average and "state-of-art" if compared to the French/Belgian beef-like products que s'appellent "steaks" back there..
