I practiced some French with the cab driver to get us to the hotel which was very rusty after three years of studying Korean. We were across from a shopping mall but it was -10 degrees and we were busy the whole time with the conference, dinners, and lunches.
Slow start to the day. Slept quite well and woke and 9ish. Went for a run but not sure how long it lasted as the heavens opened and unfortunately it's still stipping it down 2 and a half hours later... Cooked some pancakes for breakfast, but discovered that someone has gone into my crate in the fridge (the system in the hostel is you put your name on a crate and the leaving date and you put your food in it) and opened my milk and used more than half of ...

exhibit: abstraction. A lot of colourful lines on canvas, a lot of unknown
shapes and seemingly arbitrary titles. It was, in a word, beautiful. In a
sentence, beautiful but I'm sure I didn't get any of the meaning the artist was
trying to convey. I enjoyed the exhibit immensely, nonetheless. The second

Quebec City Winter Carnival
It was quite enjoyable.
The highlights were the Canoe Races and the Ice sculptures. However it was written up as being a
spectacular world-class event that should not be missed, and we didn’t think it
was that spectacular. Looks like we WILL
have to go to the Harbin Ice ...
