Day 3 was Levis to Matane along secondary road 132 along the Saint Lawrence River into the Gaspe region. As you can see from this pic, it was grey and rained most of the day.
Although grey, the drive along 132 still provided non-stop interest from small town to village to rural settings. It meanders along the mighty St. Lawrence, and hops over Highway 20 from time to time. Many of the towns ...
... retreat" for couples only. Admittedly we weren't the only non-couple there, but it did lead to some amusing gentle probing from the hosts as they tried to establish our relationship. The cabin was great, we even had our own log fire that we managed to light both nights. The food was incredible, not necessarily the tastiest food I have ever had, but the most amazing portion sizes. The anchor has since been replaced at ...
My lake side camping spot was scenic but led to a chilly night. I'm awake at 6:30 to see the sun rise over the mist covered lake. By 8 im ready to leave and make the very cold morning ride towards Labrador City. Note to self - don't worry with early starts, they are too cold! My fingers are freezing even with the bar heaters on. There isn't a cloud in the sky and I'm waiting for the sun to warm me. By mid morning it's warmer and I've completed the final 250km of ...
