... mechanical bull riding competition, face painting, a talent show and a hayride. There were hot dogs and corn on the cob.. A really fun small town get together. I loved seeing so many people all at the same time! :) This all took place right beside my brother's house.. At one point I looked across the street and a couple of cows were looking over as if to say.. What the hell is going on there?? (Yes there's a photo.. Haha!)

... these past couple of years. I winged it by myself and must say that I had a very enjoyable time. I was planning to stay in Rutland, VT, which is right in the heart of the Green Mountains of south western Vermont. I enjoy this town because of its proximity to Killington Mountain and Long Trail Brewery. A nice campground after a 4 hour drive through Montreal - mostly easy driving, which is good, because we didn't know how much twisty, windy, up and down we would face the next day on "La Route des Sommets", and after crossing the border into Maine!

... and pepperoni set it apart from other places. Also St Hubert Hot Chicken sandwich is another one of those "must haves" for me. Let's see... There were steaks, salmon, chicken, lasagna.. Banana cake, lemon blueberry loaf, ice cream, fudge to die for.. I know, you're thinking I must be as big as a house by now! Well.. My sister-in-law who is a little fanatical about exercise, ( in a good way! Lol) had me up walking ...

Went skiing with the Reidy's and their cousins. Jay Peak is definitely a must on a skiers list. Some sweet glade skiing for novices. Packed powder. 25 degrees. Barely a breeze. A couple of quads and a tram bought you to the top. Sitting on the Canadian border in northern Vermont, it's quite remote making for small lift lines. It was a four hour ride but the ride back was a bit more interesting with the impending ...
