... It was so beautiful on the inside. We were able to see the tomb of Pope John Paul II. Being inside the basilica was an experience of a lifetime! After touring the inside of Saint Peter's Basilica, we were off to Saint Peter's Square. The long to get into the basilica was so long - we were lucky to be with a group tour and avoided the long line!!! We took several photos and then continued to the gift shop where many of us purchased gifts to be blessed ...
... Vatican tomorrow. Im sure I'll still be tasting the toothpaste ... Tour of Rome tonight by private bus with guide was nice. Saw the Vatican by night ( M thinks amazing) and the drive along the Tiber was lovely. Peak hour didn't penetrate the bus, our guide is good and so is the driver. Met a nice couple from Florida over dinner at the hotel. Elizabeth and John? Talked a bit of politics, much to M & E's disgust. Wine ok. Trip looks promising at this stage, Vatican City AM ...

After seeing the Sistine Chapel, we were “art exhausted” and still had a lot of the museum to walk through to get out of the building. After a ride on the hop on bus we were home for a few moment of rest. We had dinner at Mario’s, a little restaurant a block away from our apartment. Pasta is always good after a day of art.

We had to walk about 10 minutes to a restaurant that was doing it.
