pointing back towards where our room was. Guess where the laundry was located? Right opposite our room! After much hilarity, Fred and I with our $8 of quarter dollars took our laundry over, only to discover ...

Laramie, Wyoming, United States monstermaeWe ended up staying the night in Laramie, Wyoming at a hotel instead of camping. This was very last minute and happened because of how confusing / frustrating / ****** the roads of Wyoming are. After getting alot of needed sleep, we toured the University of Wyoming. After about 20 minutes of walking around, we decided we had seen enough. The only thing worth seeing there was a student either going to or from class on a four wheeler and doing a wheelie to impress us. Only in Wyoming...
Laramie, Wyoming, United States ryan.r.smith.87... rainy and overcast but we still had to check out Strawberry Park Hot Springs which we had heard about from several people we had met during out trip. The springs were very nice but would have been even better following a long cold winter day of skiing.
We then drove back to the cabin in Switzerland Park near Nederland, Colorado to attend the annual camp picnic. We had a nice time eating great food and hanging out with neighbors from the park.

Or perhaps they have capped the number of different nationalities to 56. By the time we left Rock Springs, it was late afternoon and we decided to continue heading east a bit and wait to camp the next day in Medicine Bow National Forest, between Laramie and Cheyenne.

During our trip, we’d so much more than survived…even thrived…as a family…and we didn’t damage the Beast. We have so many fantastically beautiful and funny memories to call upon, and even more laughs that we’ve shared.

Laramie, Wyoming, United States coolican... the fur seals and penguins for at least 5 days. We'll visit the Armstrongs at some point however they'll be in the peak of haying, so we'll see. The exciting thing is that we are going from winter to summer to fall to spring all within a span of 4 months! So here is a nice winter picture to compare with the summer ones I'll be posting in a few weeks:
Laramie, Wyoming, United States sarahandaaronWe woke up to the same rain we went to sleep with last night. I was hoping to visit the Squirrel cage jail in Council Bluffs, Iowa today, but luck wasn't on our side. They happened to be closed on Tuesdays. I guess will have to wait for another trip. It rained all morning and that kind-of put a damper on scenic detours for me. Hubby just wanted to get home without anymore detours, so he was happy I didn't ask him to any side trips ...
