Our first destination is York, PA where we will visit our long-time friend Sharon Loy (maid of honor at our wedding). While there, we plan to visit the Gettysburg battlefield. My great-great grandfather, Capt. Walter R. Perry fought there with the 10th New York Cavalry. We'll also go to the State Archives and the State Library to research my Pennsylvania ancestors.

It was rainy and yucky when we left Ocala. We hope to make it to Charlotte tonight. AAA planned ...

Unfortunately today it is raining - good for catching up on indoor stuff - with severe thunder storms, up to 25 m.p.h. winds and threat of tornadoes. I did not know that Florida is #2 in the States for tornadoes! Sadly the St. Patrick's Day activities to be held in ...

The ramp to lower the boat on Silver Springs River is very close to Ocala, about 7 miles (11 KM). From there we were going slowly with the boat through a jungle like river, and it really felt like we were in the Amazon. Silver Springs is the site of one of the largest artesian spring formations in the world, producing nearly 550 million gallons of crystal-clear water daily. ...
