... order to find a seat on the bus...which seemed unsafe to me. During my perfect flight and connection, I was thinking that I should be concerned for what comes next...nothing goes that well for very long. I was right. Not only was the bus-ride long, but I had literally no way of knowing when I would arrive at my stop. I couldn't read the signs (which were scarce and small anyway), so I resorted to a game of ...

The day started a little earlier than most, as we had to be up at Sur la Table by 11.00am for a cooking class - Holiday Tapas. We started walking in -1C conditions but the temperature was up to 4C by the time we arrived, together with our fellow cooking class members, right on 11.00am. Chicago Up at 8.30 and having missed early grayline tour ( due to girls sleeping in) go for excellent breakfast at Yolk ( as recommended by Sunil, a mate of Mark Squires). Girls have Nutella pancakes, pet has eggs Benedict and I go for eggs and corned beef with fruit and pancakes on the side ( all for under $10 for my food). Excellent food although we all struggle to finish. Then walk back through Grant park and get on bus trip for South loop ...

... snack and the Cheesecake factory was the place to go, cake heaven, again a little pricey but the portions could feed a family of four. It took me two attempts to finish off my chocolate tower.

In the evening we went to the Rosebud on Rush for dinner, a great restaurant just off Michigan Ave. On the way back to the hotel Pauline accosted two Chicago PD Officers for a photo opportunity.

The big Road Trip begins tomorrow!
