... the exhibits in wonderful condition. The main huge central aquarium is still a wonderful sight to see with the dozens of various fish, sharks, sea tutles and stingrays in it. After spending about an hour viewing all the fish, penguins and the otters, we headed over to the Riverside Mall and a quick stop at Cafe DuMonde for some Cafe Au Lait and beignets. Some how it felt like cheating being able to walk around an urban space with animals tucked safely behind their fences, instead of driving around in a truck and camping where you were told not to go to the bathroom at night in case there were lions hunting in the area. ... time to spare so we wandered around Jackson Square and took a picture of the Andrew Jackson statue, and then went inside the St. Louis cathedral, the oldest cathedral in America. Right next to it was the Louisianna State Museum, so we wandered through their exhibits. They had half of it set up for a Hurricane Katrina exhibit with a lot of pictures and artifacts and stories, and the other half told you all about Mardi Gras and the history of it.
