    ... kennel owner is a breeder of Newfoundlanders (dogs that is) and Jake follows without hesitation. We make a stop at Domaine Carneros, part of the Taittinger Champagne family. In the Napa tradition, the owners have recreated the family's French castle, complete with stunning terraced gardens ablaze with summer colours.

    ... we had a super long drive the next day. We caught a taxi and gave him 3 different destinations as we kept changing our mind, in the end we went back to hotel. Decided we needed a wakeup call so we got one sorted for 7.30am and packed our bags for a easy check out.

    ... 1.5 miles to the Pfeiffer State Park. Michael and Jacob stayed and hiked the mountain while Christian, Drew and I drove south on Hwy 1 to Hearst Castle. The drive was scenic and hair raising. The sharp turns and cliff views were enough to literally take your breath away. Every bit of it was worth it too. We made a quick stop to see the elephant seals basking in the sun at the Vista Point.
