More exciting stuff

Our last night in London was spent at the Sofitel Heathrow. It was really nice to be able to get up and walk straight ingto the Terminal. No traffic delays. No stress.
On arriving at Paris airport, we were quickly meet by Renault to collect our car. We have a new Megane Estate wagon. This only took a few minutes and we were on our way. And of course we got lost trying to get out of the airport area ...

Beersteins and Feral Antics

Short entry this time....

Only here for one night. Got to the hotel saw a couple of shops with beersteins, birkenstocks and clocks. Had dinner and watched some feral women proceed to get ****** and act like idiots in the hotel bar. Some good news though, won 30 euro on the slot machine in the hotel.

One of the guys (we assume it was a guy) even peed in the hotel hallway and our Tour Manager had to clean it up. People can be such animals.

The cute little german town

... go straight to sleep on the bus. she puts it down to having a kid and she can get woken up lots overnight so you get used to going quickly back to sleep but i mean seriously we're in a bus and its definatly not the most comfortable thing to sleep in.
Went to a beer stein factory this morning and it was heaps interesting to learn how they make them and the storys behind them..

A visit to Frankfurt -- RYANAIRS Frankfurt

... to a dual carriageway. The coaches are invariably full as they transfer folk from Hahn airport to Main airport as well as the city of Frankfurt, where we arrived at 11am. October is the month of many celebrations and festivals in Germany; we found one in the centre of Frankfurt which was about the farming community and its harvest, but not a Harvest Festival in the Religious form. Its main thrust was showing where food ...

We stayed in a Castle.

... it was 4 trains away to Bacharach in the Rhine Valley. We made it to Wurzburg, then Frankfurt, and then Mainz... and then we missed the last train out to Bacharach. Thinking we were going to spend the night in a train station and NOT in castle, we reluctantly asked the clerk what we could do... she handed us a voucher, said to go get a taxi, and he would drop us at our door! So we basically LOVE the German Train system, especially since it was ...

2 Hour Lay Over!

So well I on my way to Bremen I had a 2 hour stop in Koblentz and it was 11 at night. I wish I could say I went and partied hard but I didn't. I tried, I followed some spot lights in the sky but those were to far to walk to so I just walked around a few blocks and found a dinner/bar and had a few ...

Rhine River in Flames

... So, for those who do not want to afford the expensive cruise, bus or train would be the preferable mean of transport.

Another point, I would like to make: the Rhine, especially between Bonn and Koblenz is home to dozens of large and little castles and fortresses. This fortresses are for the most part in private ownership, but on the Rhine in Flames event, this ...

Philip's stag tour

Straight from finishing work with COLT, I went to V festival. No pics, and you can get stories directly, but I then flew straight out on Monday to meet Philip, Lawrence and Elias in Germany to catch up on Philip's stag do. The plan is a week-long tour through Epernay & Reims France (I missed that bit), Köln, Kerpen, Nürberg etc through ...

The Rhinelands!

... the Rhine is also filled with lots of cute little towns with the stereotypical half timbered German houses. As many of you will know the Rhine is also famous for its Riesling, one of my favourite types of wine, and we took the opportunity to drink our share. In fact I even went so far as to agree to stay at a winery in the Mosel valley! The Rhine was very good, and surprisingly cheap ...

Mosel River Valley, Lots-a-wine

... in town and headed to Frau Pellny's place. She came to the door and told us she did not have any rooms. WTF!?!? She was helpful and offered to find us another room nearby, but when we got there they only had a room for one night and we needed three. About this time I was starting to get a twitch right below my eye. We headed back to the center of town where they have a big board that ...
