      Good Base for Exploring Prague

      Reviewed Jul 31, 2014

Mosaic House is a combination hostel / hotel. It is contemporary, clean and affordable whether you are traveling as a single, couple or group. There are a lot of young people but I never witnessed unruly behavior and noise was not a problem where I stayed in the hotel's upper floors. The terraces off the upper floor hotel rooms are a highlight and offer tile roof and Palace views. Staff was readily available, most were helpful and willing to assist with directions, activities and restaurant recommendations, etc. They provide a plentiful breakfast daily and the grill restaurant serves good pub fare and excellent lemonade. It is in a very good location close to the Charles River and Bridge. I would recommend The Mosaic House to anyone looking for basic accommodations that includes a comfortable bed and good location while exploring the interesting and mystical city of Prague.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in

Really great conditions and presentation. The place still looks new and fresh and it has everything you may want from a hostel (or should I say hostel-hotel hybrid?).

      Recommended to the fullest.

A clean, eco-friendly hostel with the most comfortable beds. At very reasonable rates for the centre of Prague, this hostel offers backpackers an ideal base for their stay. Also, it's the start of the pub crawl!

Day 9 - Prague, Czech Republic

Not much to post on today, it was pretty laid back. I didn't venture more than a quarter mile while I got myself together for the next few days. Tomorrow I plan on doing some sight seeing at Karlštejn Castle, about an hours train ride from Prague. I'll have to prepare myself for yet another tourist trap, but it sounds like it will be well …

Short entry today, just gonna try to keep this daily streak going. After 2 days of Oktoberfest, I felt relatively well, but I can tell that these two days, plus a six hour train ride, has defeated me. I 'm stoked to say I managed to stay up all day long for the first time this trip. I think 'I'm on schedule' for a good nights rest tonight. The day …

I have finally arrived after a long days travel. The flight was smooth and went well. Entering Customs was a breeze (actually ridiculously easy). The transit system here is very efficient and so far easy. I did have to walk in circles a bit, but finally found my hotel, The Mosaic House, a 'green' hotel that is very hip and good walking distance to …

Prague, Arguably Europe's Most Beautiful City

A travel blog entry by crakes on Jul 31, 2014

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but it is with good reason that many call Prague Europe's most beautiful city. The historic and Bohemian city set along the Charles River sets an incredible backdrop for any man's fairy-tale. It's without wonder that it is a popular location for filming movies. Wondering around the cobbled streets and Gothic …
