Woke up to sunshine and an urge to do some exercise. As
usual my travel agent had everything planned and after breakfast we set off on
our bikes to visit the Georges du Trient. This is a beautiful gorge that is
situated on a river that has cut the gorge over 200 meters into the rock. The
cliff faces have been equipped with walkways that allow a visitor to access
deep into the area. Really something special.

I made use of the internet again this morning and had a chat with my Pete who proudly told me he had just passed his Fork Hoist licence again which cheered me up. The scenery getting there was awesome, as was the scenery leaving and getting to our end town of Arolla. We saw a herd of Chamonix (deer like mammal) today which was cool. We also saw the famous Matterhorn ( mountain) for the first time. Woo hoo, it was a great day!
... of course the showers were $7 for 3 minutes of lukewarm water and she even charged for electricity to turn on the lights in the bedrooms. When one gentleman asked her to turn it on because he had paid for it she she argued with him saying that others in the room might be bothered by the light. Usual breakfast, with pre-ordered baguette. Agreement was made that it is the best baguette we have had, and the croissant might have equals but not better. Totally delicious. And ordered an extra baguette to make into meat and cheese rolls to take on the hike!
