Today was the final day of our tour, but sadly we could not hike due to pouring rain. Luckily we are at a nice hotel in an actual town (Charmonix) which is a good place for a day off. We've all been relaxing Ryan on his phone and I spending an enjoyable day reading on the kobo. Mom and dad have just been walking around. That ...

The day started out pretty normal with clouds threatening and the odd drop of rain. Our goal today was to head over into France once again via the col de Balme, on the border of France and Switzerland. Well me made it, but not quite as planned... It was very humid and it felt like one was walking through a rain forest, with tall trees, ferns and lots of green ground coverage. There were a number of switchbacks as we came to the tiny hamlet of Bovine, which is really ...

Started our morning with brekkie at our hotel, just the usual croissant and coffee! We then wanted to pick up our lunch, so braved the butchers Jambon fumee (smoked ham), home made salad, and then onto the bakery for fresh baguette, all asked for and ordered In French of course!! It was a long day today as we had considerable ground to cover, our first challenge was working out how to acquire the Vignette - which is a yearly toll pass ...
