... required to capture a Spanish galleon. Still a very pleasant way to spend 45 mins and helped work up an appetite for lunch.

Suitably refuelled we ambled around, poking into little shops and admiring the buildings as we went. Amongst the nauseating tourist tat were some really nice things, most however way outside our price range!

It was bound to happen. After two and a half months of travel we finally encountered a serious flight delay that threatened to derail our entire trip to Croatia. ... As was the Captain in his daily broadcasts!!!) When we ate in the Silhouette Restaurant we were attended by Rolando, the head waiter, Howard his "assistant" and the sommelier Dadan. ... city. What buildings weren’t demolished were severely damaged by the fires that raged for days. Dubrovnik was rebuilt largely by Venetian architects and consequently looks as if it could be picked up and put in Italy. The old city is entirely surrounded by walls complete with a series of forts, bastions and towers. Our young guide Markus was very good, humorous, and a heavy metal and Liverpool fan.
