I managed to get a really bad cold so spent the day feeling miserable. Weather was pretty bad as well as was the traffic. This just comes under the heading, "Some days are just like that!". I slept like the dead after going to bed around 9 PM. We only stopped at 7:30 PM cause I kept pulling over to take a power nap. Had a very quick dinner of roast chicken which we bought earlier in the day along with a few other ...

We were only 4 miles away from the Kentucky Dam wen we stopped for lunch so we decided to take a little detour and visit. It was a nice day, but the smell of dead fish was a bit overwhelming when we walked down to the water. After exploring for a brief time we piled back in the car and headed on our way. ...

He came out within the hour and we were back in business. The people in this little town of Grand Rivers are incredibly friendly, in fact everyone we have met ...

... two hills if you were wondering what that was. Dusty was our tour guide and he is a descendant of Mr. Jack. He was a total hoot with his southern boy drawl and catchy way of explaining things. Every bottle of Jack comes out of that small distillery with over eleven million barrels produced each year. Mike feels much better knowing he is not alone in the consumption of said spirits. After the tour we walked through the town. There are a lot of rules ...

No trip to the States is complete without a road trip, so we decided to drive from St Louis to Nashville.

We were definitely glad we did otherwise we would have missed views of the Great Plains, Rend Lake, Kentucky Dam and Metropolis, Illinois - home of Superman! The great museum is filled with Superman memorabilia and made a good stop on the way to our next stop and home of our good friend Ashley!!!
