On 9/7/13 will stay in Eddyville, Kaintuck...... possibly named after some of my Eddy relatives. Will try to find out.
Eddyville, the seat of Lyon county, was settled around 1798 and named for the eddies in the nearby Cumberland River.

Back in Clarksville TN now, heading out to Nashville in the morning...can't wait to get my country on!!
... a flat area following a creek all the way to Pound Hollow Lake (Recreation Area). We were the ONLY ones on the trail the entire time. It was quiet and peaceful. After we hiked back up, we hung around the car drinking our Diet 7ups, eating amonds and M+M's.
The only place near us was a very hillbilly gas station. We ate lunch there before parting ways to drive home. My drive to Monett was right at 6.5 hours. What a great trip!
... at this park. Pharoah Campground definitely looked like somewhere we would all love to camp. Eventually, we took a trail that went way down into the forest. We were surrounded by large rocks/caves/ferns/mushrooms/moss. We loved it! Next we headed out to the Observation Trail where you can scramble and climb over these massive rock formations. ... I'd let us get ourselves into this mess. We listened as the storm grew stronger, thunder sounded like a cracking whip, startling us both. Then it moved through, dying down, until only the soft patter of rain remained.
We slept, and before I fell asleep, I prayed that tomorrow would leave us a window to get off this island without risking kayaking in thunder and lightning.
Arturas turned to me with sleepy, yet sharp eyes, smiled, and said, "What an adventure, huh?"
