... Our tour guide was fantastic and was able to tell us so much about the history of the Mayan people, right down to the details of a ball game that was played where the captain for the winning team was decapitated! Why the winner? Well when you offer a sacrifice you only offer the best. And why did people want to win? Well the winner was seen as the lucky one who had a direct passage to a better life! Right that is enough of the history lesson, we are off to ...

... point. (first and only time i heard how deep it was) Then the swells of water came. Up and down the boat went, over swells of water that kept getting higher and higher. Then up we went, ...

Today we went separate ways to do two different excursions. Jan joined the Fury Catamaran snorkelling trip which lasted nearly four hours. A little further down the coast the catamaran reached our snorkelling position so everyone ...

After 5 days if torrential rain, Mexico delivered on the beachside holiday I'd been hoping for. We spent the first 5 days entertaining ourselves doing crazy things inspired by cabin fever. Fashion parades, late night crab hunts, packing survivor bags incase we were evacuated.....Mine consisted of my visa, phone, tramping boots and head torch. Megan's contained 2 survivor head scarves ...

Day 85 - Swimming with whale sharks

... helped back into the boat I was huffing and puffing from the swim but we both felt incredible, we were smiling from ear to ear, still charged from what we just did. All the coupled had a go then we went back through the groups if you wanted another go. In total Bobbie and I got 3 swims, but the second time we didn't get close by the time it got away. The 3rd time however was the best, the captain put us in, right in front of it and as we put our heads under water ...
