The location was really good, away from the highly tourist parts and when walking to the beach there was plenty of small bars and local eateries to satisfy. The room was quaint, had two single beds (that’s all that was available), an air conditioner that sounded like it had a V8 motor and a trickle for a shower. Overall it was a nice stay but we paid too much and there was nothing we could do about it.

Le Chef was a staple from their trip from last year serving up amazing lobster bacon sandwiches. (Amazing per Amanda's review) and the chili shrimp pizza was pretty good. Certainly the first time ...

... definitely worth it! I'm really getting excited about this! But I'm nervous, too. Yesterday I couldn't find my passport and visualized how I wouldn't be able to go to Sweden to apply for a visa at all, but instead have to go 24 hours by bus to the embassy in Mexico City to apply for a new passport. It appeared a few hours later ...

    First day in Playa

... buy food and things we need at home. In the afternoon, we were thrown straight into work by studying our first excursion. We went to Rio Secreto which has been selected as one of the worlds top ten Maya-themed family activities. Basically, it's a massive underground water-filled cave system. I figured I've seen big caves before, but this was something else! Simply amazing! A guide took us through the caves in a fun and intsresting way. We were wearing wetsuits, helmets and ...
