    Mini Vacation

A travel blog entry by sxybritish on Nov 06, 2014

After being away from my husband for three and a half months, we decided to take a four day weekend in Negro, Jamaica.

When you go to Bar-B-Barn you are not just a guest, you are part of a family; home away from home, singles, couples and family alike. Being a family run hotel that has been in operation for over twenty years, I know what it is to look for that personalized ...

... the sun was not in short supply either for that glowing skin.

We went on on a glass bottom boat with Captain Black. He had such a cool laid back demeanor. We sailed alongside the cliffs and took in the views as well as the coral and schools of fish. Kyle went snorkeling while I chatted up Captain Black and drank a Red Stripe Beer. The breeze was blowing and the skies were clear. It was the ...

    Special Moment for Two

A travel blog entry by jvrk on Apr 05, 2014

Next day, much like the first. I went Scuba diving and Elly took out a kayak. We did two dives, and again it was great. Got back around noon, and we had lunch at Neptunes again. It's a great spot because it overlooks the beach (we asked to be at a table that was a little further from the main area but it was overlooking the ocean). It was really windy.
After lunch, we went back to the room to shower and then we went ...

    OMG, that's a shark!

A travel blog entry by jvrk on Apr 04, 2014

The next morning we were up relatively early. I went to the scuba center (grabbing breakfast and coffee) on the way, and Elly went for a run. Scuba was fun, but I had to set up all my equipment, which I hadn't done in a while. On the first dive, we saw a six foot Nurse Shark, which was cool because to see him/her, the Dive Leader had to hold us down to the ocean floor and move us under the reef. I wasn't sure what ...

    Eye Cream or Toothpaste?

A travel blog entry by jvrk on Apr 03, 2014

I woke up at 3:59, one minute before the alarm was to go off at 4am. I got up and took a shower, then woke Elly. Poor Elly only got about two hours of sleep, and almost tried to brush her teeth with eye cream. We got ready, finished packing and the car arrived at 5am.

The ride to the airport was easy. We checked in, dropped our bags, and somehow had the "fast pass" through security. On the other side of security, we grabbed ...
