The Mook Lanta eco-resort les right at the end of Long Beach so if you want to go for a walk you have indeed a very nice long beach. I t was quiet and pleasant, activities for all tastes can be found. If you don't want their famous english breakfast, there is a French bakery nearby as well as numerous restaurants. You can rent a motorbike, go diving or snorkling or take the four island tour. The standard rooms are pretty basic but clean and have a nice shower and fan. So what more do you want on this island paradise?

If you're looking for something that's not a party on the beach then this is your place. Still only a minute's walk from the coast (and a nice quiet section at that). These resort is located in a wonderful garden area rich with frogs to sing you to sleep!

I spend Pi Mai or lao New year in Thailand on the beautiful island of Ko Landa in Krabi province. I wanted to get away from the crazy waterfights in Vientiane and was looking for some peace and quiet. Mook Lanta Eco resort was close to the beach and had basic but clean accommodaton. On top of that the island's best restaurant, the Red Snapper is …

... remains all over the island, in the form of a smashed and rotting heap of wood that looks like it used to be a business, or a stone building that’s been gutted and lays abandoned and full of cracks, or just some unidentifiable overgrown rubble barely visible on the hillside. Nevertheless, life here rebounded quickly, and the island is now covered in shiny new buildings that all adhere to shiny new building codes, and we passed several Tsunami Evacuation Route ...

... couple of days, it’s the first time we’ve spent a few days in a modern big city for a while, and strangely enough, being back in Bangkok was like coming home to London in many ways. Traffic swarmed past all around us, fast food joints and boutique stores lined the well paved streets, Thai street food sellers jammed packed onto the busy sidewalks cooked up tasty treats and snacks for the locals and we enjoyed having modern amenities for a couple of days. The adjustment was ...

    ... sauce -THANK YOU!

We sailed up to some cliffs and could jump off the boat, apart from the hard work climb this was such fun ...and locals where jumping off from mega heights
We had opportunities to snorkel but the sea was a little dark so couldn't see as much.
We had a lucky stop at Poda Island, where it was a BBQ dinner on the beach, this was nice and the staff where great.

... and I think we both gasped as we rolled in.

We had entered an early 1900’s American country and western town with wooden slatted houses and old fashioned lampposts lining the street. Some horses tied up and a fat sheriff patrolling the town wouldn’t have been amiss here! We had stepped back in time and just wished we’d had our camera to capture it. But with a little help from Google we did manage to find ...
