If you're looking for something that's not a party on the beach then this is your place. Still only a minute's walk from the coast (and a nice quiet section at that). These resort is located in a wonderful garden area rich with frogs to sing you to sleep!

... feet up. The staff were wonderfully helpful and immediately brought an ice towel to put on my ankle, followed by sprain cream and there was a constant delivery of ice brought to our room. The manager even called to make sure I was ok and to let him know if I needed to see a doctor. For the next few days the staff all asked how I was feeling which was a lovely touch. I'm fine now and we didn't let it ruin our stay-infact it's quite a good, comfortable place to spend a few ...

... It's beautiful, really- if you look up "synergy" in a dictionary, this would have to come close (or it would be next to a photo of a 1980s businessman- either way). In my case, the songthaew driver speaks not a single solitary word of English. In this circumstance, I defy you to try to find a way to mine the words "town", "Krabi" or "backpackers". Blessed to be in Gen Y, I eventually Google Image Search the nearest temple to town and ask him to take me there. He smiles ...

... in great spirits and a cracking way to celebrate your New Year in a hot country. Battleworn, drunk and drenched through we crawled back in at some point in the early hours and crashed out.

The next day we were hopeful that the water frolics might have continued for a second day but alas not, the streets were empty and nobody passing was either wet or sporting a water based weapon. A couple of drinks picked our heads back up and we sorted out another scooter to go ...

... our Thai saying and have them shipped to the US in a few weeks. Score! Now in the back of the truck for our scenic, jungle ride back to our hotel.

In staying with our tradition of a massage per day it was time to make an appointment. We tried at our hotel, but they were fully booked. I remembered a similar beachside massage spot near Thaimout so we walked down the beach in search of another location that had availability. We found the little hut and were both able to get in within ...

Thankfully the rain eventually eased off (whoever says a tropical storm only lasts an hour should be shot) just in time for our complimentary lunch of rice and sea food (see photo of Lucinda getting stuck in with the gang!) The day dramatically improved and ...
